Get out your picnic basket and put on your favorite country colors, hats or special cultural clothing—the Parade of Nations is coming!

While Jeddah is getting ready for its first Global Village, KAUST is celebrating the 9th annual Parade of Nations, with 110 countries representing our small community!

All members of the KAUST community are invited to the Harbor Walk on Thursday, March 7, for the 2019 KAUST Parade of Nations. Everyone is welcome—from faculty, staff and students to parents, brothers, sisters and friends, this colorful community event is open to all!

Event details:

• Drop off your picnic at Al-Marsa Amphitheatre field or bring it with you on the parade
• Don’t forget to bring your reusable water bottle. Water will be provided.
• Wear your country colors or cultural dress or (if you prefer) your usual day clothes
• Represent the country of your choice—we have the flags of more than 110 nations
• 5:00 p.m. – Meet at Harbor Walk and rally around your country flag
• 5:15 p.m. – Parade to Al-Marsa Amphitheatre field (less than 1 km away)
• 5:45 – 6:30 p.m. – Picnic and visit the circle of nations—learn more
• 6:30 – 7:00 p.m. – Prayer time
• 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. – Community member performances
• 8:30 – 9:00 p.m. – A very special show

Getting there: 

How do you get to the Harbor Walk and Al-Marsa Amphitheatre? Easy… Bike, walk, or look out for the Parade of Nations buses! Buses will run every 12 minutes throughout the evening from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. from the following locations (see stops):

• Tamimi Supermarket
• Discovery Square Car Park
• Harbor Car Park
• Al-Marsa Amphitheatre
