Ibn Sina Building (building 3), level 3, room 3202
The Analytical Core Lab (ACL) is pleased to offer a basic training course on the use and application of Elemental Analysis (CHNS/O). Elemental analysis is a technique that is used for determining the amount of elements such as carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, sulfur, and oxygen in a sample. This training course will cover a number of basic aspects of Organic Elemental Analysis (CHNS/O) and will introduce the background and practice of CHNS/O analysis as well as practical considerations and typical applications.
Course Outline:
- Introduction to Elemental Analysis
- Operation of the Flash 2000 CHNS/O instrument
- Modes of analysis (CHN), CHNS, (O)
- Hands-on Training
- Major Applications
- Challenges and Limitations of Elemental Analysis
