Abdulmajeed Serajuddin promoted to Director, IT Operations

I am pleased to announce that effective June 1, Abdulmajeed Serajuddin assumed the newly created position of Director, IT Operations.

In his new role, Abdulmajeed is responsible for overseeing the management and operational effectiveness of the customer-facing IT Services, the Infrastructure and Research Computing Support Services, as well as Applications and Data Management Services.

Abdulmajeed has helped define KAUST IT since its creation in 2007 and played a leading role in establishing, implementing and supporting the essential IT services during the KAUST startup stage. In August 2010, Abdulmajeed became a key member of the IT leadership team. During that time his team has been instrumental in successfully implementing, managing, and supporting the majority of the critical enterprise applications across the University.

Prior to his joining at KAUST, Abdulmajeed served at Saudi Aramco for around five years where he developed the Saudi Aramco IT master plan. Prior to that, Abdulmajeed worked for Accenture where started as a consultant and before being promoted to Senior Manager.

Abdulmajeed holds a Bachelor degree in Computer Science from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah.
