Facilities Management (FM) at KAUST is proud to announce the launch of its organic waste composting program, aimed at reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills. Partnering with Edama Organic Solutions, a spin-off company from KAUST, the composting program requires community commitment to segregate food waste at home and contribute to KAUST’s drive for “Zero Waste to the landfill.”

Similar to recycling, the success of composting relies on the community’s efforts to separate food waste at the source according to program requirements. Any contaminants in the organic waste can affect the composting process and require additional effort to remove.

The KAUST Composting program is registration-based and available to households that can separate their food waste from other waste types. Interested individuals can register by clicking here.

To learn more about what types of waste can go into the organic bin, please refer to this informative poster. The first 200 households to register will receive a free kitchen collector to help segregate food waste at the source.

After registration, an information pack will be sent to the email address provided, which includes further details about the program.

More updates on the community waste collection program will be shared soon. Thank you for your continued support of KAUST’s waste recycling efforts. Join the Composting Program and contribute to a more sustainable future.
