The Office of the Arts takes over The Spine!
The Office of the Arts is thrilled to announce the first of an ongoing series of Urban Mixer aimed at creating an expansive collection of street arts to subsequently enliven the KAUST South Beach.
The concept of this first edition is to mix different types of arts (visual, performing, and culinary) and to convert the concrete on the Spine into a small patch of green where people will unwind and cool down, enjoying catchy DJ sets and the art being painted live.
Don’t miss MDLBEAST DJ Sobia and our own DJ Toluwa showcasing dynamic and textured sound from Latin to Afro beats, hip hop, electro, rap, R n’ B and more.
Promoting homegrown and in-kingdom talents from Riyadh to Dammam and Jeddah, this public outreach project intends on supporting both the local economy and creativity in the booming Saudi cultural sector. Designed to activate the Campus Spine, it provides a gathering point for the research community and the general public to engage with contemporary art outside of a traditional gallery space.
