Register your COVID-19 booster

To retain ‘immune’ status in Tawakkalna, you are required to receive a COVID-19 booster vaccine if your second dose (or first in Johnson & Johnson) was more than eight months ago.

All KAUST residents, employees and students aged 16 and over who have so far received a COVID-19 booster outside of KAUST Health are required to complete the vaccine monitoring form registering their vaccination with KAUST. This is because KAUST Health does not have access to your Tawakkalna status from Ministry of Health. No action is required for anyone who received their booster dose in KAUST Health.

Anyone who has not met the above requirements will be referred to the appropriate administrative unit for follow-up and must not go to the workplace, classroom or any business/facility in KAUST.

Vaccines in KAUST

KAUST continues to work with the Ministry of Health to secure access to further vaccine supplies for those aged 12+ and the pediatric vaccines for those aged 5-11.

There is no confirmation of this as yet. Therefore, anyone requiring a vaccine is strongly recommended to book through Sehhaty or Tawakkalna for an appointment in one of the Kingdom facilities in Jeddah or the local region.

Quarantine requirements

The current quarantine requirements in relation to positive cases are:

  • Positive cases: seven days quarantine (from date of swab) with no test required on exit from quarantine. Exit from quarantine is allowed from date/time of Tawakkalna returning to green, ‘immune’ status
  • Direct contacts: fully vaccinated are not required to quarantine or test. Those who are not fully vaccinated are required to quarantine for seven days with no test required (seven-day quarantine begins from the date of the last contact with the positive case). Exit from quarantine is from 12:00 am on day 8.

Any contact who is symptomatic must contact KAUST Health for triage and assessment.

* Positivity rate = % of positive tests returned from the total number of tests taken during a 14-day period. Excludes where the result is still pending or the swab was rejected.
** This rate will only be displayed if the number of tests conducted achieves a given significant threshold (724 tests). Over the past 14-day period, 2.417 tests were conducted, with 364 positive cases.
