Commencement is coming! KAUST President Tony Chan looks forward to celebrating the graduating class of 2021, and welcoming back representatives from the class of 2020 on the evening of December 17, 2021. An exciting ceremony is ahead, so bookmark your calendars to watch it online or volunteer.
Helping President Chan welcome the KAUST graduates, board of trustees, faculty and guests will be student Commencement speaker Antonia Sugar, a Ph.D. student of energy resources and petroleum engineering in the Ali I. Al-Naimi Petroleum Engineering Research Center. Antonia’s research is at the intersection of bioscience and engineering, and she’ll share why she left her home in Romania to pursue her dream in Saudi Arabia.
KAUST is honored to announce our distinguished Commencement speaker: His Excellency Khalid A. Al-Falih, Saudi Minister of Investment. The Ministry of Investment was created in February 2020 to facilitate investment opportunities across the Kingdom and promote Saudi Arabia as a world-class investment destination. Al-Falih’s career includes two previous prestigious appointments as Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy, and Chairman of Saudi Aramco.
It’s an exciting time to be in Saudi Arabia at a time of tremendous transformation and innovation, and this is a unique moment in history for you to be a part of that energy by celebrating the achievements of our graduates.
