COVID-19 booster vaccines
Last week, the Ministry of Health announced that booster vaccines are now available for anyone over the age of 18, in addition to those who had previously been eligible. These appointments can be booked through Sehhaty and Tawakkalna applications for locations in Jeddah and in the rest of the Kingdom. KAUST will be making the booster doses available through KAUST Health later this week, with more details communicated shortly on how to book. Please note that:
- All booster vaccines administered will be Pfizer.
- An individual is only eligible to receive a booster vaccine if six (6) months have passed since having the second dose. Anyone trying to attend who has not had six months since their second dose will not be able to receive the vaccine at this time. (e.g. For today’s date, only those who have had their second dose on or before April 24 would be eligible to have their booster dose today).
October 24 COVID-19 update
As of October 24, there were no new cases of COVID-19 confirmed at KAUST in the last seven days. For the most up-to-date information, please check the KAUST COVID-19 Dashboard.
The 14-day positivity rate* at KAUST is currently unavailable** as of Oct 24, 2021.
We remind all community members that we are currently operating in Keeping KAUST Safe Tier 0.5. If you have symptoms, please stay home and call KAUST Health at 012 808 0940.
* Positivity rate = % of positive tests returned from the total number of tests taken during a 14-day period.
Excludes where the result is still pending or the swab was rejected.
** This rate will only be displayed if the number of tests conducted achieves a given significant threshold (724 tests). Over the past 14-day period, 169 tests were conducted, with one positive case
