KAUST Solar Center (KSC) in collaboration with Saudi Electric Services Polytechnic (SESP) is launching a Photovoltaic (PV) Design School to certify early-career engineers, qualifying them to work as PV designers in the Kingdom’s industrial PV sector.

This accredited course introduces health and safety, pre-design and audit considerations. It covers fundamental principles of PV energy conversion for the design and application of established and emerging photovoltaic technologies. In addition to lectures, participants receive extensive computational training on commercial PV design tools and hands-on training in KSC’s educational PV labs.

The KSC-SESP PV Design School is aimed at early career engineers working in industry and government entities across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. KAUST master’s students, who are interested in a career in the Kingdom’s industrial PV sector and who hold a bachelor degree in engineering, are invited to register.

Upon completion of the accredited training, participants are eligible to sit a final exam held by the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC). Successful examination candidates will be certified PV designers allowing them to work in KSA’s industrial PV sector.

Registration for the first school is open until Thursday, October 16.

If you are interested in attending, please send an email to faisal.wali@kaust.edu.sa

Note: Places are very limited but future KSC-SESP PV design schools will be announced in due course.
