Updated operating hours
Restaurants and coffee shops will mostly operate per their normal working hours during Saudi National Day. Exceptions for some Community Life facilities and services are listed below:
- KAUST Health will be closed on Thursday, September 23 for Saudi National Day. As always, 911 emergency response and the Emergency Department operate 24/7.
- DHL and UPS will be closed on September 23.
- Island Recreation Club: due to the National Day Event hosted on September 23, all daily activities, programs, and clubs at the Island Recreation Club will be canceled from 12:00 p.m. for the rest of the day. The closed areas will include gyms, fitness studios, pools, all outdoor courts, play land, yoga studio, and all community-based programs (art studio, photography studio, ceramics studio, etc.).

Dinner Cruise
Join us for dinner and a cruise around the KAUST Harbor to celebrate Saudi National Day, on September 23rd. Enjoy the sea view, the serenity, and a break from the day-to-day stress from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Dinner is traditional Saudi cuisine and the fee for:
- Adults and children 6 years and over – 91 SAR
- 5yo & below are free of charge

Barbecue at South Beach
Bring your friends and family and have fun in the sun at South Beach Friday, September 24. Play some volleyball, bounce around on our inflatables, or simply laze around on afloat.
A live barbecue, including a selection of burgers and sandwiches, will be available for purchase from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Date Exhibition: September 21-23
Government Affairs and Community Life, in cooperation with the National Center for Palms and Dates (NCPD), are pleased to hold the Saudi Dates Exhibition on September 21, 22, and 23 at the Island Recreation Club.
Dates are an iconic symbol of Arabian hospitality and an essential part of the Kingdom. The Kingdom is one of the world’s largest producers of dates. Explore and get to know the types of this nutritious fruit that have been a staple of the Saudi diet since ancient times. The exhibition will cover rich information about type of dates, date products, how they’re grown, nutritional information, how to select dates, and more.
