Vaccination requirement

September 1, 2021 Full immunity required for those 12 and older

All COVID-19 vaccines are now widely available to those aged 12 and older in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, as of September 1, 2021, everyone in KAUST aged 12 years and older must have received all doses of their KSA-approved COVID-19 vaccine.
Immune by first dose and immune by prior infection will no longer be accepted as of September 1 since second doses are widely available and those with prior infections now need only wait 10 days from the date of infection before receiving their vaccination.
Anyone 12 and older must have received all doses of vaccine and be listed as “Immune – completed the doses of COVID-19 vaccine” in the Tawakkalna app.

Vaccine monitoring form

Whether you have had one or both vaccine doses (either in Kingdom or internationally), you are also required to update your status by completing the KAUST vaccine monitoring form. Even if you have received both doses, you must inform us of this to be compliant.

Quarantine requirements for those under 18

As a reminder for returning out-of-Kingdom travelers, it is a requirement for all unvaccinated children under the age of 18 who have returned from international travel with vaccinated parents to quarantine for a period of seven days (the day of landing in Kingdom is day 0).

Any child aged eight and over will be required to have a PCR test on day six with a negative result before they are able to leave quarantine at 00:01 hours on day eight.

Children should remain in quarantine and will not be able to attend TKS or Daycare until their quarantine period has ended.
