Vaccination requirement dates

August 1, 2021—Immune by Tawakkalna

As previously advised, KAUST required all employees, students and dependents to have the “Immune by Tawakkalna” status as of August 1, 202 Those people not listed as “Immune by Tawakkalna” in the app are, therefore, no longer allowed to enter KAUST retail, recreation, school, campus or workplace venues.

Those under 18 are exempt until September 1, 2021, when full immunity status will be required for those 12 and older(see below)

Newly-arriving international students, employees and dependents who haven’t been able to be vaccinated in their home country must follow all Keeping KAUST Safe guidelines, be tested on a weekly basis until their Iqama is received, at which point they must immediately get vaccinated.

September 1, 2021—Full immunity required for those 12 and older

All COVID-19 vaccines are now widely available to those aged 12 and older in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, as of September 1, 2021, everyone in KAUST aged 12 years and older must have received all doses of their KSA-approved COVID-19 vaccine.

Immune by 1st dose and immune by prior infection will no longer be accepted as of September 1 since 2nd doses are widely available and those with prior infections now need only wait 10 days from the date of infection before receiving their vaccination.

Anyone 12 and older must have received all doses of vaccine and be listed as “Immune – completed the doses of COVID-19 vaccine” in the Tawakkalna app.

TKS will check for COVID-19 vaccine compliance of those 12 and older along with all other school required vaccines.
