In these disruptive times when access to culture has been limited, we are happy to bring you an opportunity to virtually visit some of the best museums around the world and view amazing collections.

We are pleased to announce the out coming launch of museum virtual tours featuring some of the most impressive collections in the world. This series tailored for our community will also include some workshops especially designed for kids.

These virtual tours will be offered on Zoom. You can attend one or more events. If you are willing to follow our tour-guides and virtually enter a museum please register.

Tour 1

Islamic Art Collection at the Louvre (Paris, France)

When: May 26
Time: 11:00 a.m.
60 min, 40 participants

The Louvre tour will bring you under a dazzling glass canopy hanging over a 19th-century courtyard like the wings of a dragonfly. There, one can explore thousands of pieces on display documenting Islamic art from Spain to India over a period extending from the 7th to the 19th century. We will virtually tour the collection concentrating on the masterpieces that you wouldn’t want to miss. All reflecting the artistic grandeur of an exceptional civilization.

Your guide
Noha Escartin is a tour guide and a lecturer in several universities in Paris. Her favorite topics are Islamic civilization and ancient Egypt that she enjoys sharing with the public in an engaging atmosphere.


Tour 2 – for kids

Islamic Middle East Art Workshop at the Ashmolean Museum (Oxford, UK)

When: June 4
Time: 10:00 a.m
40 min, kids 6 – 12 years
20 participants

Especially designed for kids 6-12 years old, this workshop will be the occasion for your children to explore beautiful objects from the Islamic Middle East Gallery in the University of Oxford’s museum of art and archaeology. They will learn to recognize Islamic artworks by discovering the elements of Islamic art and design. Children will take part in practical art activities and meet curious creatures and fabulous designs.

Your guide
Clare Coleman is a museum learning specialist with a strong experience on Islamic Art. She has been working at Ashmolean Museum since 2007. She really enjoys engaging all ages with objects and paintings.


Tour 3

Ancient Middle East Collection at the Ashmolean Museum (Oxford, UK)

When: June 9
Time: 11:00 a.m.
60 min, 40 participants

This virtual tour of the Ashmolean Museum will introduce you to the galleries, the origins of the collections and significant people in the Museum’s history. We will then take a closer look at some highlight objects from the Ancient Middle East Collection, one of the United Kingdom’s most significant archaeological collections from that region.

Jude Barrett co-ordinates adult learning at the Museum, including community projects, public programming, outreach and specialist groups visits.
