COVID-19 vaccination update

Vaccinations outside of KAUST

If you’ve already had one or two doses of any COVID-19 vaccine outside of KAUST (including internationally) and have not completed the vaccine monitoring form, you are required to do so as soon as possible by clicking here.

Second dose

We would like to inform community members who got their first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine last March that we are still planning for them to recieve their second dose of the vaccine early June.

Individuals who got their first dose on April 12, should receive their second dose early July.

The administration of the second doses will be confirmed as soon as KAUST is in receipt of the vaccines.

A 12-week period is necessary to maximize the efficiency of the vaccine and is the current policy of MoH.

Contact tracing

Following recent MoH guidelines, anyone who is fully vaccinated and identified as a direct contact of someone who tests positive will, no longer be required to quarantine if they have no symptoms.

April 25 COVID-19 update

  • One was an international arrival who tested positive in Jeddah
  • The other was a symptomatic individual who presented to KAUST Health.

Both positive cases remain in quarantine and contact tracing has been completed.

The 14-day positivity rate* at KAUST is currently unavailable** as of April 25, 2021.

We’d like to thank all community members for practicing physical distancing, the wearing of face coverings, hand washing and adherence to the Keeping KAUST Safe guidelines.

If you have symptoms, please stay home and call KAUST Health at 012 808 0940.

* Positivity rate = % of positive tests returned from the total number of tests taken during a 14-day period. Excludes where the result is still pending or the swab was rejected.
** This rate will only be displayed if the number of tests conducted achieves a given significant threshold (724 tests). Over the past 14-day period, 593 tests were conducted, with 4 positive cases.
