Following the pandemic hiatus, the Office of the Arts invites you to the first of its series of COVID-safe “comeback” events.

We hope you will join us for “Head Over Heels in Saudi Arabia” a theater production by the multi-hyphenated Saudi academic, playwright and performer, Dr. Maisah Sobaihi.

About the performance

A Fulbright scholar at New York University, Dr Sobaihi has represented Saudi and Arab women in a number of regional and international forums and events. Other career highlights include serving as Senior Counselor to the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia on political and social affairs at the United Nations and being appointed as the formal representative of Saudi Arabia on the Board of UN-Women.

Her one-woman show “Head Over Heels in Saudi Arabia” is a 90-minute, fun, light-hearted comedy. It draws us into the lives of three women grappling with questions of thwarted love and stymied romance and… a memorable resolution ensues.

The play has received rave reviews both nationally and internationally – and is the first Saudi show ever to make it to the prestigious Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Don’t miss what promises to be an unforgettable evening!

COVID-19 Safety Measures

Please note this is a COVID safe event. Due to Keeping KAUST Safe guidelines, capacity is limited for each performance. Only those who register and receive a confirmation from the Office of the Arts will be admitted with their respective KAUST photo ID. Please read the guidelines carefully and kindly register for one performance only, not several.

Your registration may include up to four individuals from the same household or “COVID bubble, ” who will be seated together.

With the health and safety of our participants and audiences in mind, we will enforce rigourous COVID-19 protocols and procedures, including physical distancing and face coverings.

Unfortunately, children under 18 years old cannot be accommodated for any of the three performances.

You will receive a confirmation email upon registration.
