It is a requirement for everyone aged 18 or over to have a COVID-19 PCR test this week. For those who have not yet registered and booked, there are still slots available throughout the week. Please first book on the KAUST Booking system, then follow the below instructions.

  • 1-2 days before your test, you must REGISTER and BOOK a slot on the Sehhaty app (Android / iOS). This registers on the MOH systems and generates a QR code to link to the Sehhaty and Tawakkalna systems
  • You must bring two QR codes to your appointment:
    • One from the KAUST booking system
    • One from the Sehhaty MoH system

Please note:

  • The KAUST COVID-19 test is still mandatory for people who have recently returned from international travel and have had the Exit PCR test before March 5
  • People who have already received the COVID-19 vaccination are still required to participate in the testing program
  • HR and Graduate Affairs will follow up with anyone who does not participate in the testing program

March 7 COVID-19 update

As of March 7 at 8:15 a.m., one positive case of COVID-19 has been confirmed at KAUST since the last bulletin (published on February 28, 2021).

  • One international returner who tested positive on his/her quarantine exit swab

The positive case remains in quarantine and contact tracing has been completed.

The 14-day positivity rate* at KAUST is currently unavailable** as of March 7, 2021.

We’d like to thank all community members for practicing physical distancing, the wearing of face coverings, hand washing and adherence to the Keeping KAUST Safe guidelines.

If you have symptoms, please stay home and call KAUST Health at 012 808 0940.

* Positivity rate = % of positive tests returned from the total number of tests taken during a 14-day period. Excludes where the result is still pending or the swab was rejected.
** This rate will only be displayed if the number of tests conducted achieves a significant threshold (724 tests). Over the past 14-day period, 210 tests were conducted, which explains the unavailability of the positivity rate, as it is not statistically significant.
