Dear Community,

I am very pleased to share with you the news that the COVID-19 vaccine will be rolled out to the KAUST community over a two-week period beginning Wednesday, March 10 between 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  This news follows an agreement with the Ministry of Health (MoH) secured by our good colleagues in Government Affairs (GA). KAUST Health will shortly follow with a more detailed communication informing the community of the process by which the vaccine will be delivered on campus but for now I wish to thank each of my KC3 colleagues who have worked tirelessly to secure this welcome development.

Following on my announcement last week inviting you to submit questions to the upcoming town hall meeting, I also wish to confirm that the town hall will be held virtually at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 4. I expect the welcome news in relation to the roll-out of the COVID-19 vaccine will now be addressed in greater detail as part of the town hall presentation, so I very much urge you to watch it live, or to catch the recording at a later point, as it will be a very timely opportunity for many of the shared concerns and questions that we all hold to be answered.

In the meantime, I again urge everyone to continue to adhere to the Keeping KAUST Safe guidelines. By doing so, we continue to help our community successfully navigate this pandemic as we now move towards what I believe to be a genuinely more optimistic and hopeful outlook for us all.

Thank you.

Tony F. Chan
KAUST President
