Pets are welcome members in the family of many KAUST homes. In an effort to support healthy pets, healthy families and a healthy community, pet ownership at KAUST is regulated and all pets must be registered on an annual basis.

Guidelines

It is the responsibility of all pet owners at KAUST to read and understand the Guidelines for Ownership of Pets in the KAUST Community.  Please note that as per the Guidelines, chickens, rabbits and reptiles are not allowed as pets at KAUST.

Re-registration of Pets

If your pet(s) are already registered, you will shortly receive an e-mail from the Petcare team requesting that you re-register your pet.  Please book an appointment as promptly as you can with International Animal Care at KAUST, who visits each Tuesday.

First-time registrations

If your pet has not yet been registered, please book an appointment immediately with International Animal Care at KAUST, who visits each Tuesday.

Whether it’s your first-time or you are re-registering your pets, the following is needed:

  • A medical check-up (just a 10 minute session)
  • Evidence of up-to-date vaccinations
  • Evidence of microchipping and spaying/neutering (for cats)
  • Completion of the registration/re-registration form, submission of a close-up photo of your pet, and payment of the fee (SAR 150 per pet per year) at Reception.

Pet  registration is mandatory and fines/action may be taken against pets and owners if found to be unregistered.  Your continued support ensures that our pets are kept in a safe environment and also allows us to continue to offer vet and grooming services and support pet-related initiatives and programs.
