Results of the COVID-19 Pulse Survey

Last November, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), in collaboration with the Institutional Reporting and Data Governance team, sent all community members the HSE Pulse Survey. By filling the survey, you provided us with your insights, feedback and level of satisfaction with the measures taken by KAUST in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. You were 1,688 who shared your feedback, input and ideas and provided us with a temperature check of the community’s sense of safety and awareness over the past year. The results show a positive feedback from our community, namely about the measures put in place at KAUST during the pandemic, which helped strengthen a high feeling of safety.

Here are some highlights from the survey:

January 24 COVID-19 update

A big thank you to all community members who participated in the COVID-19 screening program last week. We completed 5,641 individual tests across five testing days at the MOH stations at KAUST and are currently reviewing the information and data provided.

Here is an overview of the positive cases reported to KAUST Health since the last bulletin.

Nine cases are asymptomatic individuals who have been detected and come forward so far after testing positive through the MOH testing. All those individuals would have otherwise gone undetected.

Two cases were symptomatic individuals who were testing at KAUST Health. In addition, five people tested positive after quarantining on returning back to KAUST as international travelers.

All contact tracing has been completed resulting in 109 individuals now in quarantine.

The above MOH screening program positive cases have been reported to KAUST Health by community members. It is important you check your Sehhaty app profile or alternately the Tawakkalna app for your results. It is your responsibility to report to KAUST Health any positive results.

The 14-day positivity rate* at KAUST is currently 0.3%.

We’d like to thank all community members for practicing physical distancing, the wearing of face coverings, hand washing and adherence to the Keeping KAUST Safe guidelines.

If you have symptoms, please stay home and call KAUST Health at 012 808 0940.

* Positivity rate = % of positive tests returned from the total number of tests taken during a 14-day period. Excludes where the result is still pending or the swab was rejected.

Have you registered your interest for the free COVID-19 vaccine?

Everyone in the KAUST community age 16 and over is strongly encouraged to register for the free COVID-19 vaccine through the MoH Sehhaty app.

KAUST has established a COVID-19 vaccination plan page which will be updated as we get more information about the approval and availability of other vaccines approved by the MoH. The page also contains general vaccine information which is useful to learn more how vaccines work and are developed.

At present time, over one million people have already registered for the COVID-19 vaccine through the MoH Sehhaty app.  Upon registration, you will be notified when the vaccine is available to you according to the prioritization system. You will get your two doses at the Jeddah regional vaccination center, located at the King Abdulaziz International Airport South Terminal three weeks apart.
