Locusts in our community

The windy weather we have been experiencing lately has brought with it many natural phenomena, including thriving insect and bird populations across the region.

An abundance of locusts has been noticed in certain areas of KAUST. They are harmless to humans and animals; but certainly could be a cause of nuisance.

The desert locust has natural enemies such as predatory wasps, flies, parasitoid wasps, predatory beetle larvae, birds and reptiles.
