Staycation anytime at KAUST
These regularly-offered activities will make your staycation feel like a vacation.
- Take a dip in the pool at the Harbor Sports Club and Island Recreation Center– 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. daily.
- Knock down some pins at the Bowling Alley (open Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. Sunday to Thursday 1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.) Remember to bring your shoes!
- Have a picnic at North Beach, go to the playground, take a bike ride, or feed the fish at King Abdullah Monument.
- Play a round at the Safaa Golf Club – Open 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. daily, closed Sundays. And, don’t miss the Golf Academy Membership Offer for December.
- Check the cinema listings to see what’s showing this week including the unique movie experience under the stars at the Al Marsa Amphitheatre outdoor cinema.
- Catch some rays at South Beach

With extra screenings during the winter break, why not come and visit the indoor or outdoor cinema for your holiday movie experience? On top of the scheduled screening times, there will be special free screenings. More information

Pedalos and kayaks in the canal
There’s nothing quite like being on the water in the iconic canal of KAUST. Enjoy a special opportunity to enjoy the water and the view by renting out pedalos or kayaks on the canal on Saturday, December 19. Learn more.
Camping at South Beach
It’s magical to sleep under the stars! If you have your own tent and want to go camping at South Beach, we are offering camping pitches on December 17–18 and January 7–8. To book a spot, complete the booking form with your contact information and the date(s) you would like to camp.
KAUST Parks Treasure Hunt
Go on a Treasure Hunt across the KAUST parks! The competition is open from Sunday, December 20, 2020 to Thursday, January 7, 2021. Participate here.

Teen Space – The Teen Space is offering programs, projects and other activities that will engage teens within a safe and friendly environment during the break. Learn more.

- Budding Genius – Online workshops from December 21 to 26 (excluding December 25) and December 28 to January 2. Register directly at buddinggenius@buddinggeniuscm.com
- Role Models – Online workshops covering collaboration, confidence, growth mindset, leadership, problem-solving and resilience. Type KAUST 20 to get a 20% discount on the price.
- KAUST Children’s Center – The KAUST Children’s Center follows the school calendar and it will be closed during the fall break.
