November 29 COVID-19 update

Four positive cases of COVID-19 have been identified at KAUST in the last 7 days.

Three of them are KAUST residents who had symptoms and presented themselves to KAUST Health for screening. The fourth individual is a family member of one of these three previous cases. All contact tracing has been completed and they and any direct contacts remain in quarantine.

The 14-day positivity rate* at KAUST is currently at 1.14%.

We’d like to thank all community members for practicing physical distancing, the wearing of face coverings, hand washing and adherence to the Keeping KAUST Safe guidelines.

If you have symptoms, please stay home and call KAUST Health at 012 808 0940.

* Positivity rate = % of positive tests returned from the total number of tests taken during a 14-day period. Excludes where the result is still pending or the swab was rejected.

“Keeping KAUST Safe Pulse Survey”

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) would like to invite you to participate in the “Keeping KAUST Safe Pulse Survey,” which you received on Monday, November 23 by email.

Community members are encouraged to share their experiences and lessons learned during the past seven months of our COVID response. The estimated time to complete the survey is around 20 minutes.

The survey will be open for two weeks, and will close at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2020.

Your responses will help guide our future planning, and establishment of priorities as we set our path forward. With more work ahead of us, as we navigate to our “new normal,” it is essential that we hear from you directly and learn more about your suggestions and ideas to keep us productive and safe. Please share good examples, tangible ideas, and attainable suggestions.
