KAUST IT would like to remind the community of email digest services available to our academic and business community members.

What is an email Digest?
An email digest is a collection of emails that have been filtered and quarantined, this is to provide you with more control on emails sent to your email address. This is where you now find emails classified as junk or spam; which are sent to you without you previously subscribing.

What is the new bulk email filtering feature?
A pre-fix tag will be added to all emails that are determined to be bulk emails, the tag will be: [Bulk]: Sample Email Subject

Bulk emails are used by marketers to deliver messages to you; they differ from junk email as they are sent to you with your permission through subscribing in order to receive these email messages.

This is done to provide you with better clarity in your inbox and to follow industry standards and best-practices to better identify between phishing emails, spam emails, and junk emails.

What changes will I notice to my inbox?:
Possibility of receiving daily digest email in your inbox with block email details and actions, such as Release, Block, Delete or Report Phish. You will also the new pre-fix tag, [Bulk], in front of all emails determined to be part of a bulk mailing list.

How do I access my email digest?
Please review this document on the IT website for more information.

As a reminder these are the benefits:

1.  Release quarantined emails
“I’m expecting an email, where is it?”

You will be able to review emails that have been quarantined while on their way to your mailbox. If you determine an email on this list is authentic and valid, you will be able to release them to your inbox.

2.  Block senders
“How can I make sure that I don’t receive any emails from mail@Xyz.com?”

You have the ability to block unknown senders and unwanted emails that have been filtered into your quarantine folder.

3.  Allow senders
“How can I make sure that I receive emails from mail@Xyz.edu?”

You also have the ability to allow (whitelist) known senders to receive their emails directly to your inbox.
