As part of our efforts to improve the services we offer the community, KAUST IT will be upgrading Personal Drives (P-Drive). During this operation, user accessibility might be impacted temporarily.
What is P-Drive?
The Personal Drives or P-Drives are 20GB network spaces which are provided to all KAUST faculty, postdocs, staff, students and researchers.
Why are we upgrading?
As technology changes and evolves, we must upgrade and adapt. Users will enjoy a better experience with significant performance and speed improvements.
When is it happening?
The upgrade will begin on Thursday, November 5 at 8:00 p.m.
What if I need to access my files during the migration?
During the migration, for urgent access, you may access your P-Drive by using this address: \\oldmyFiles.kaust.edu.sa\username.
Please note: You may lose individual access to your files for a maximum of up to 30 minutes, depending on how much has been consumed from your storage.
Once each user P-Drive has been migrated, accessibility will return to this address: \\myFiles.kaust.edu.sa\username.
How do I access P-Drive?
Accessible as drive P: and/or \\myFiles.kaust.edu.sa\username; you can also follow these instructions on the IT Website for more information.
For any additional questions or concerns, please contact the IT Service Desk, call 012 808 0900 (Option 1), or open a ticket at servicedesk.kaust.edu.sa.
