Dear community members,

The IT Department would like to inform you of an upcoming update to the existing Single Sign-On Service (SSO) which allows you to use your KAUST username and password to access Microsoft Office 365.

When is it happening?

The actual authentication system for Microsoft Office 365, Waseet, is being switched to a new mechanism (Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS)) during the first week of August. An IT alert will be sent out prior to the switch.

Will there be a downtime?

Though we do not anticipate any system or application downtimes, there may be a need for you to re-authenticate for applications such as:

  • KAUST provided OneDrive on your devices
  • SharePoint folders synchronized on your devices
  • Mobile applications developed through Microsoft PowerApps
  • Flows and automations that are generated by Microsoft Power Automate (formerly Microsoft Flow)
