KAUST cases

One new case of COVID-19 has been identified at KAUST, bringing the total number of cases to 32. The case presented to KAUST Health with symptoms and was tested. Contact tracing is being completed and all affected parties are currently in quarantine.

We are keeping in touch with all of our active cases and monitoring their progress. We wish each of these community members well.

Personal hygiene face shields for the research community

KAUST is pleased to announce that personal hygiene face shields fabricated by the Workshops Core Laboratory are now available for the KAUST research community.

The personal hygiene face shields can be used as additional protection against COVID-19 from bodily fluids getting on your face or to prevent you from touching your face as a source of contamination.

How and when to use the personal hygiene face shields

The personal hygiene face shields do not replace the use of safety glasses or certified chemical face shields when working with hazardous substances in the laboratory or workplace as they are not certified PPE. Also, the personal hygiene face shields are not a substitution for face coverings.

You cannot wear a personal hygiene face shields as a substitution for a face covering while on campus or in the workplace.

Order yours today

You can place an order for personal hygiene face shields through the KAUST Portal by following the below steps:

  1. Login to the KAUST portal and click on the Procurement Self-Service tab
  2. Click on the Shop icon and the KAUST Catalog link on the next page
  3. Enter 3000012111 (the SAP code for the reusable face shield) and Go
  4. Add the item to your shopping cart and proceed with the purchase

The personal hygiene face shields will be delivered in four separate parts. Please watch the video on assembly by clicking here. This wearable is reusable and not intended for single-use.

We would like to remind the community that anyone on the restricted activities regime should contact KAUST Health through 012 808 0940 before attending the clinic in person. 

The KAUST Health team will first discuss your issues over the phone with you then advise whether your attendance at the clinic is required or not.
