KAUST cases
The total number of cases of COVID-19 identified at KAUST remains at 28.
We are keeping in touch with all of our active cases and monitoring their progress. We wish each of these community members well.
The last positive case was 12 days ago.
Community retail and restaurants reopening
We are happy to inform the community that effectiveTuesday, July 7, Subway, Saadeddin, Tim Hortons (University Library) and Kanoo Travel will reopen and welcome customers.A booking is not required to enter Tim Hortons at the University Library. Customers can come, grab a drink and enjoy it outside. No seating or gathering inside is permitted.

Safe jogging and walking
We would like to remind the community to keep a physical distance of at least 2 meters when walking or jogging in a small group and passing other community members. This distance can slow the spread of potential infection between individuals. Keep KAUST Safe.

Quarantine changes reminder
As of July 5, the quarantine has been lifted for people returning to KAUST. Instead, returning individuals should be participating in ‘restricted activities.’ Anyone practicing ‘restricted activities’ should not use the on-demand bus service during this time. Quarantine is only required if in the following circumstances:
- For those community members/households identified by KAUST Health through contact tracing of positive cases
- For those community members who display and present to KAUST Health with COVID-19 related symptoms following a medical assessment
- Confirmed positive COVID-19 cases
Any community member developing COVID-19 symptoms should immediately self-isolate at home and contact KAUST Health for further advice and guidance.
All community members are asked to follow the Keep KAUST Safe guidelines at all times.
