I am pleased to announce the publication by the Office of Enrichment Programs of a Keynote Lectures book celebrating the University’s 10th Anniversary. These keynote lectures are available on the Enrichment at KAUST YouTube channel.
The WEP keynote lectures are signature events aligned with the theme retained by KAUST following a proposal submitted by the WEP Chair. I would like to thank all the chairs and co-chairs of WEP for inviting over 180 eminent international and in-Kingdom speakers since 2010 and curating this unique learning opportunity for our students and our community.
Since its inaugural program in 2010, some of the past keynote speakers include H.E. Khalid Al-Falih, Minister of Investment, Saudi Arabia; Kip Thorne, Nobel Laureate in Physics, Caltech; Thanh Tâm Le, Director, Climate-KIC France; Lando Norris, McLaren Formula 1 driver; Carolyn Porco, Imaging Science Team Leader of the NASA Cassini Mission; Marion Guillou, President of Agreenium, the French Institute in Agrosciences artist Theo Jansen; and Ajay Royyuru, IBM Vice President for Healthcare & Life Sciences, among others.
These world leaders and experts in their fields came to KAUST and shared their innovative thinking on a wide range of topics, including sustainability and climate change, marine life, food for all, entrepreneurship, biodiversity, the city of the future, time, astronomy, the future of medicine, exploration and so much more.I would like to warmly thank all of them.
