KAUST cases

The total number of cases of COVID-19 identified at KAUST remains at 28.

We are keeping in touch with all of our active cases and monitoring their progress. We wish each of these community members well.

KAUST reopening next steps – what changes on July 5?

On June 28 we announced that several measures will change effective Sunday, July 5, namely:

  • Quarantine procedures will be relaxed for people entering KAUST. Instead of the current 14-day mandatory quarantine requirement for returnees to KAUST, we will replace this with the implementation of “restricted activities” for a period of 14 days after their return.
Please note: Quarantine will continue to apply for those identified through contact tracing, or who are displaying Covid-19 symptoms.
  • Access controls through the gate will become more rigorous during Phase 2c, including a community member testing program for some people entering.

In tomorrow’s announcement we will share the full details about how the implementation of this procedure will work.

Why clean hands are important

Handwashing is simple and is one of the most effective ways to keep yourself and your family healthy.  Germs are spread from other people or surfaces when you:

  • Touch your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Touch contaminated objects or surfaces
  • Cough, sneeze, or blow your nose and then touch other people’s hands, or touch common surfaces such as door handles, staircase railings, etc

Everybody in KAUST should be aware of the importance of hand hygiene and should be able to perform it correctly and at the right time.

Once again, we’d like to thank you for your cooperation and ongoing adherence to directives. These have been designed to keep you safe and to help manage the crisis.
