KAUST cases

The total number of cases of COVID-19 identified at KAUST remains at 21.

We are keeping in touch with all of our cases and monitoring their progress. We wish each of these community members well.

The last positive case was 3 days ago.

Considerations for researchers

As labs are gradually opening during Phase 2b, we would like to provide researchers at KAUST with additional guidance that must be implemented in order to reduce transmission of the virus in a research environment.Center Directors, Principal Investigators, supervisors, lab managers, and delegated representatives are responsible for ensuring everyone working in laboratories and offices under their supervision follow measures to ensure a safe work environment:

These guidelines are not exhaustive and Center Directors, Principal Investigators, supervisors, and lab managers are encouraged to use additional best practices to ensure a safe work environment. Those guidelines are complimentary to the Keep KAUST Safe guidelines.

Myth. Exposing yourself to the sun or to temperatures higher than 25°C degrees prevents the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Fact. You can catch COVID-19, no matter how sunny or hot the weather is. Countries with hot weather have reported cases of COVID-19. To protect yourself, make sure you clean your hands frequently and thoroughly and avoid touching your eyes, mouth, and nose.
