KAUST cases

One new case of COVID-19 has been identified at KAUST, bringing the total number of cases of COVID-19 identified at KAUST to 19. The new identified case was in quarantine, as well as the individual’s small contact tracing group. All members of the group remain in quarantine.

We are keeping in touch with all of our cases and monitoring their progress. We wish each of these community members well.

Keep your face coverings handy

Get in the habit of carrying your face coverings with you at all times, as it is mandatory to enter Tamimi, Starbucks and other retailers.

Tip: Put it in your backpack, or in the glove box of your car, or simply wear it before you leave your house.  Face coverings help minimize the spread of COVID-19 and Keep KAUST Safe. To request face coverings, please complete this form in a timely manner. Stocks are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Face coverings will be delivered to your front door over the next few days.

Taking off and disposing of single-use face coverings

We would like to remind community members wearing disposable face coverings to follow these simple tips to minimize the risk of contamination:

  • Remove the face covering from behind; do not touch the front of the mask
  • Discard immediately in a bin
  • Wash your hands immediately with soap or hand sanitizer
  • Never put on a new face covering until you have properly washed your hands
  • Learn more about how face coverings here

Once again, we’d like to thank you for your cooperation and ongoing adherence to directives. These have been designed to keep you safe and to help manage the crisis.
