KAUST cases

The total number of cases of COVID-19 identified at KAUST remains at 14. All of the positive cases have been discharged upon completion of the MOH testing requirements. The last positive case was confirmed 17 days ago.

Cloth face coverings—request yours today!

As previously announced, cloth face coverings are available free of charge for community members to order for home delivery. Two types of coverings are available, handcrafted models made by a group of KAUST volunteers known as “The Masketeers,” and reusable cloth face coverings from a manufacturer in Jeddah.

To request face coverings, please complete this form before Sunday, May 17, as stocks are limited and on a first come, first served basis. The face coverings will be delivered at your front door on a specific day by the Boy Scouts who will provide a contactless delivery.

Wearing a face covering is a complementary public health measure, not a replacement for established preventive measures, which include social distancing, respiratory etiquette, hand washing and avoiding touching of the face, nose, eyes and mouth with hands. Do not use a face covering on children under two years of age.

Banaweer and Greens reopen

Following a comprehensive health-risk assessment and the implementation of appropriate controls, the Banaweer workshop located next to the gas station, and Greens Fresh Produce in front of the Harbor Library, will reopen. Banaweer will open daily beginning Wednesday, May 13

  • 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Greens Fresh Produce will open daily beginning Friday, May 22

  • 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

The number of people allowed into the stores will be managed. It is your responsibility to practice social distancing measures once inside the store.

Once again, we’d like to thank you for your cooperation and ongoing adherence to directives. These have been designed to keep you safe and to help manage the crisis.
