The use of face coverings can slow the spread of COVID-19 by preventing the release of respiratory droplets into the environment. Wearing a face covering is a complementary public health measure, not a replacement for established preventive measures, which include social distancing, respiratory etiquette, hand washing and avoiding touching of the face, nose, eyes and mouth with hands.
A group of volunteers in KAUST known as “The Masketeers” have donated their time to make reusable cloth face coverings. KAUST has also purchased reusable cloth face coverings from a manufacturer in Jeddah. We are making these limited stocks available to the community free of charge on a first come, first served basis.
