KAUST cases

The total number of cases of COVID-19 identified at KAUST remains at 14. All of the positive cases have been discharged upon completion of the MOH testing requirements. We are keeping in touch with all of our cases and monitoring their progress. We wish each of these community members well.

Face masks—best practices

We would like to remind community members that it is mandatory to wear a face mask at all times when visiting Tamimi stores, while in the queue and while shopping, as well as when visiting KAUST Health and when collecting food from restaurants and takeaways.

Remember that wearing a face mask does not replace hand washing/sanitizing, and that it is your responsibility to practice social distancing directives in public places at all times.

We would like to guide you through some tips on how to use face masks.

It is also important to refrain from touching the mask or your eyes while using it. If you do touch your mask or eyes by accident, wash your hands with water and soap or rub your hands with sanitizer.

Read more about the Saudi MOH guidance about practicing good hygiene here.

If you would like to make your own face mask or would like to be part of a group making face masks for the community, please visit the Community Life website.

Do I still need to stay at least 2 meters away from people if wearing a face mask?
Yes. Wearing face masks is an additional public health measure people should take to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Read more about face masks here.
