Dear KAUST community,

The CMT and the EOC established in response to the COVID-19 crisis continue to take action and wish to provide the following updates.

The current number of positive cases identified on campus remains at seven. We are keeping in touch and monitoring progress of the one remaining positive KAUST case in Jeddah. The person has had one negative test and is awaiting the results of the second test.

These are the items that we wish to update you on today.

Update on compulsory leave

In line with the government’s direction and precautionary measures, compulsory leave has been extended until further notice. Compulsory leave applies to those over 55; pregnant and nursing women; or those with underlying medical conditions. Remote working arrangements can be made through your line manager.

Curfew reminder

A 24-hour curfew has been introduced in Makkah and Madinah today. The curfew at KAUST remains in place from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the next morning. Please ensure you keep up to date, as curfew conditions may change at short notice. An email announcement and SMS will be sent in the event of changes. PENALTIES APPLY for breaking the curfew. Valid reasons to be away from home during the curfew can be found here

Census reminder

Thank you if you have already responded to the KAUST COVID-19 census. If you have not yet responded to the census, please do this today.
