A Capella Science lecture with KAUST faculty

Tim Blais is a science communicator who explains scientific topics via writing and performing a capella parodies of popular music which he records and posts on his YouTube channel “A Capella Science.” In this session, Tim will be joined by three KAUST researchers to present three of his popular videos.

Undergraduate Poster Competition Exhibition

Everyone is welcome to attend the exhibit as undergraduate students from around the world present their best research in a poster format, allowing us to see their work in an understandable and attractive visual presentation. Brought to you by the Office of International Affairs, the University Library, and the Enrichment Office.

A keynote lecture by Mark Kendall, Entrepreneurial Professor at the Australian National University. Professor Kendall is a 2012 Awards for Enterprise Rolex Laureate for pioneering efforts to expand knowledge and improve human life. 

The Cave
Wednesday, January 22 | 7:00 PM – 8:15 PM | Discovery Cinema
“The Cave” is an exploratory film showing the experience of Dr. Hosam Zowawi (microbiologist) and Dr. Francesco Sauro (speleologist) to combine their various sciences in one expedition to do new scientific research, a microbial study in caves.  The documentary filmmaker — Eng. Abdulrahman Sandokji — and clinical microbiologist and infectious diseases scientist Dr. Hosam Mamoon Zowawi will introduce and lead the discussion of this screening.

The KAUST Farmers Market 
5:00 PM – 9:00 PM | Discovery Square
The KAUST Farmers Market, part of the sustainable food movement, will feature on Wednesday 22, Thursday 23 and Friday 24 locally sourced produce, nuts, seeds, honey, and fresh fish for purchase. The Farmers Market is a joint annual initiative in collaboration between the Enrichment Office and Community Life.
