Texas Inspired Metal-based Drug Discovery Adventures

A keynote lecture by Jonathan Sessler, Professor of Chemistry at The University of Texas at Austin. He is a 3x cancer survivor. He is notable for his pioneering work on expanded porphyrins and their applications to biology and medicine. He is a co-founder of Pharmacyclics, Inc., which was sold to AbbVie for $21 billion. #biopharmacy

Heritable Human Genome Editing: Scientists and Science Policy

A keynote lecture by Francoise Baylis, University Research Professor at Dalhousie University. She is a philosopher working in bioethics at the intersection of policy and practice. Her work challenges readers to think broadly and deeply about the direction of health, science and biotechnology. Introduction by Professor Khaled Salama, co-Chair of WEP 2020.

“Music by the Harbor” is jazz from the renowned Juilliard School at Lincoln Center, performed by Grammy Award-winning drummer Ulysses Owens, Jr. and a New York-based troupe of talents on a trajectory: Corentin Le Hir on bass, Liston Gregory on pian and David Aedwumi on trumpet.
