Tuesday, November 5. 2019
6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Auditorium (building 20)

All members of the KAUST community are cordially invited to attend a piano recital given by CEMSE Ph.D. student Lukas Larisch, described with photography by interdisciplinary artist and KAUST photographer Andrea Baczynski (Bachofen-Echt).

The recital/exhibition seeks to link music and photography as similar artistic disciplines in the way the viewer and listener assimilate the experience of sound and sight. The term flâneur denotes one who “strolls,” “lounges,” “loafs,” and “wanders” and has become an important symbol for scholars, artists and writers.

Excerpts from the program include:

  • Kreislerianna, Op 16 by Robert Schumann
  • Rondo in D Major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

School-age children aged eight and over are encouraged to attend this concert with their parents. Parents with younger children are welcome to be seated with your children in the Family Seating section in the lobby of Building 20 where the concert will be live streamed on the LED screens.

We look forward to seeing you there.
