Saudi Initiatives is pleased to announce that three students from the 2011 Saudi Research Science Institute (SRSI) have won places in this year’s Intel International Science and Engineering Fair – the world’s largest international pre-college science competition – held in the US in May.
Hisham Al-Falih and Fatimah Al Ajaji both placed third in the Engineering: Materials and Bioengineering category, and Nayif Al Houmoud placed fourth in the Chemistry category.
Congratulations also to the other SRSI students who qualified and participated in the competition. Our participants were up against more than 1,500 young scientists chosen from 446 affiliate fairs or national competitions in approximately 70 countries, regions, and territories.
This is a remarkable achievement by our first cohort of SRSI students and we congratulate them all for taking Saudi science to the international stage.
