Film Festival – April 14 to 15

The Enrichment in the Spring program invites you to discover or rediscover movies that celebrate pioneers through the ages. Book your next weekend for an exceptional Film Festival screening eight “pioneers” movies over two days.

If you watch three movies or more over the weekend, you will get a chance to win a restaurant voucher. Winners will be announced during the Opening Night on Sunday, April 16.

Friday, April 14

Lewis & Clark: Great Journey to West
12:00 – 12:45 p.m.
The legendary early 19th century expedition that crossed the uncharted North American West.

Things to Come
1:30 – 3:15 p.m.
A group of pacifist scientists and thinkers dream to build a utopian society on the ruins of the old.

The Theory of Everything
4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
Stephen Hawking and Jane defy terrible odds and break new ground in the fields of medicine and science.

Hidden Figures
7:20 – 9:30 p.m.
Three brilliant African American women at NASA serve as the brains behind the launch of the first astronaut into orbit.

Saturday, April 15

Toy Story
11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
This is the first film to be entirely produced on computer and is one of the best films Disney has come up with.

The Wildest Dream
1:30 – 3:00 p.m.
The intersecting stories of George Mallory, first man on Mount Everest, and Conrad Anker, who finds Mallory’s frozen remains 75 years later.

Ice and the Sky
4:00 – 5:30 p.m.
A documentary about the effects of global warming in Antartica unearthed by French explorer and scientist Claude Lorius.

1492: Conquest of Paradise
8:00 – 10:30 p.m.
Director Ridley Scott tells the story of Christopher Columbus’ discovery of the Americas and the effect it has on the indigenous people.
