Email cloud migration on Thursday, March 2

Dear KAUST colleagues,

The IT Department is pleased to inform you that the University’s new email infrastructure in our cloud has been thoroughly tested by 60+ IT users and is now ready to migrate to.

What happens next?

The email migration to the cloud will begin on Thursday, March 2 at 5:15 p.m. and will require between 36 to 48 hours to complete before your KAUST email account is once again available for your use.

You will receive an SMS notification on your mobile phone at the beginning and at the end of the migration process.

Please be informed that you will not have access to your KAUST email during this period. However, any emails sent to you during this migration process will be queued and delivered as soon as your mailbox is available for your use.

Our objective is to make this migration as transparent as possible. Thanks for your support during this KAUST email migration process.

Email benefits you will receive from the cloud migration:

  • Mailbox size increased by 66% (from 15GB to 25GB)
  • User-friendly webmail client
  • Improved email SPAM/virus detection and control is included
  • Works with all currently supported email clients used at KAUST.
