Janadria Festival
The Janadria festival is an annual event, established in 1984 by King Abdullah, to preserve and promote Saudi culture. The festival revolves around the different provinces of the Kingdom, always highlighting the regional architectures and customs but also the handicrafts, the foodways and dances. This successful event is a celebration of a vivid cultural heritage.

More about the speaker:

Mohammed Mahmoud Babelli holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from King Saud University. He started with professional photography over thirty years ago, driven by his passion to creatively document the treasures of the Kingdom. He toured all parts and regions of the Kingdom, to document natural landmarks, archaeological and cultural heritage of the various civilizations, as well as all the spiritual, human and material aspects. His major achievements include:

  • Member of a number of local and international photography associations
  • Participated in judgment of local photography competitions
  • Participated in several art exhibitions inside and outside the Kingdom
  • Presented several training workshops in various photography arts

He is the founder and managing director of Desert Publisher, a creative publishing company from Saudi Arabia, publishing books of cultural and media images. In 2011, Mohammed Babelli published a book dedicated to the Janadria festival in four languages—English, French, German and Spanish.
