World Water Day is held in March each year to highlight the importance of fresh water and to advocate for sustainable water management. On this day, people from around the world participate in awareness-raising celebrations and events centered around water conservation and management, and KAUST is no different.

Join the F&C Health, Safety, & Environment team and the Maintenance and Utilities Offices team for a Community Open Day at the Sea Water Reverse Osmosis Plant (RO) on Saturday, March 21, at 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.

To register please click here.

Please note places are limited and will be assigned on a first come first served basis.
This event is a great opportunity for the community to:

  • See first-hand how KAUST’s high quality drinking water is produced and how its high standard of quality is maintained, plus our water conservation needs.
  • Learn more about the Water Use Calculator, an online tool that allows you to estimate how much water you use at home. Just complete the questions about your household and see how your water use compares to the national average.

Bus transportation will be provided to take you to the RO Plant, and will leave from the main Tamimi Supermarket at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. respectively. The pick-up point will be opposite the SAMBA ATM. Your bus will also return you to Tamimi at the end of your visit.

Let’s make every day at KAUST World Water Day by using water wisely.
