Cristal (formerly Cristal Global), the world’s second largest titanium dioxide (TiO2) producer and a KAUST Industry Collaboration Program (KICP) Strategic Partner, will co-host, along with KICP, an afternoon dedicated to exploring the uses, advances, and current research related to titanium. Cristal is particularly interested in explaining the titanium-related opportunities available within their company for KAUST graduates.

Speakers from Cristal, Rolls-Royce, Dow, and SABIC will participate in this event and will cover topics ranging from metallurgy, coatings, and catalysis (see topic/company list below). KAUST’s own Assistant Professor Aram Amassian as well as Senior Research Scientist Dr. Valérie Caps will talk about the work they are conducting or have been involved in related to titanium. Refreshments will be provided.

  • Rolls-Royce – Titanium Technology (Titanium metal and powder metallurgy)
  • Cristal – Titania Applications & Technology
