Take advantage of the KAUST employee retirement and savings plans
Attend a workshop in May to learn how.
The University provides employees with two important benefit plans: the Pension Plan and the Savings Plan, which are designed to help accumulate significant savings for the future. These benefit programs are a valuable part of the KAUST employee value proposition.
The University has partnered with Vanguard, a leader in the investment industry, to provide employees with an opportunity to learn more about the advantages and rewards of participating in these plans.
Employees are invited to attend one of the workshops that will be offered from May 6 through May 8. These 90-minute workshops, led by Steven W. Boyd a Certified Financial Planner from Vanguard, will provide valuable information, whether employees are new to saving or are highly experienced investors.
Key Topics Include:
- An overview of the pension plan
- Advantages of participating in the savings plan
- Global economic outlook
- The savings plan from the Islamic perspective (Sharia Law compliance)
- Developing and maintaining an investment strategy in today’s global financial markets
- Getting the most out of the plans
- Managing retirement plan accounts
Employees can choose from one of the following sessions: (no registration required, light refreshments will be served)
U.S. Plan (U.S. citizens and green card holders)

Wednesday, May 7
- 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.
Global Plan (Saudis or non-U.S. employees)
Tuesday, May 6
- 12:00 to 1:30 a.m.
- 2:30 to 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday, May 7
- 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
- 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
- 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Thursday, May 8
- 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.
- 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
All sessions will be held in the Museum & Conference Center Multipurpose Room (building 19), level 1.
