Total Quality Management in Academic Libraries

Abstract:
The lecture will highlight quality management and quality assurance within academic libraries. More specifically, it will present the benefits of total quality management within academic libraries.
The lecture is based on the idea that providing quality information services should be an ultimate goal. Dr. Alfrih believes that serving library users while satisfying their needs should be the main goal and practice for any academic library.
During the lecture, Dr. Alfrih will relate his personal experience and share useful information that stimulates participants to think about applying quality in their everyday work.

Biography:
Dr. Fahad Alfrih is the General Director of Libraries and Documents at the Institute of Public Administration in Riyadh. He earned his PhD degree in Information Science, from the Loughborough University in the United Kingdom.

The lecture is open to all members of the KAUST community.
The lecture is part of the University Library’s ongoing Saudi librarianship lecture series.
