Abstract:
The lecture will highlight the developments of computer applications and designs from its onset throughout evolution in which Cloud Computing became widespread.

The concept of Cloud Computing, its types, and its use within the library field, will be detailed during the lecture. Special emphasis will be given to current uses of Cloud design and applications within the Saudi academic libraries, its future prospects, its advantages and disadvantages, as well as its future trends will also be underlined.

Dr. Azzahri’s Biography:
Dr. Azzahri is a faculty member of the School of Information at King Saud University in Riyadh. He progressed his career as a prominent leader in the library field at Saudi Aramco. 
His PhD dissertation at King Abdulaziz University focused on “Virtual Academic Libraries in the Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia.”

This lecture is part of the library’s ongoing Saudi Librarianship Lecture Series.
