The WEP Team would like to thank the KAUST Community for submitting over 200 proposals for WEP 2014. We would like to congratulate you for submitting very high quality, diverse, and creative proposals; we have received 100 academic, 12 entrepreneurial, 33 skills, 46 cultural and 14 recreational proposals. KAUST has much to be proud of and we are looking forward to bringing you an inspiring new program in 2014.
A 20-member committee made up of faculty, students, postdocs, staff, KAUST School teachers, and community members will now carefully review the proposals over the next two months and by July 20, all proponents will receive written notification and invitations will be sent to selected speakers.
Preparing for its 5th anniversary year in 2014, the new WEP Chair Prof. William Roberts, highlighted what to expect from the program, “Looking ahead to WEP 2014 we are preparing to celebrate the UN International Year of Family Farming and the main themes of the program will include Food and Farming, Innovation, Underwater, and Environment. I look forward to seeing more people become involved and broader participation, please take part and benefit from this unique and diverse program, which is sure to motivate and broaden your horizons, allowing you to see new possibilities and ventures.”
