University Development, in partnership with the Saudi Economic and Development Company (SEDCO), announces a SEDCO Research Excellence Award Workshop will be held from February 19 – 20 in the Engineering Science Hall.
The workshop will present research findings into salt-tolerant extremophile microorganisms found in deep-sea brine pools unique to the Red Sea. Uli Stingl, Assistant Professor of Marine Science at the Red Sea Research Center, and four KAUST co-investigators received a generous grant from SEDCO for their research in September 2011.
All KAUST researchers and students are invited to attend Day 1 of the workshop and both Keynote Lectures. Attendance at the Working Groups on Day 2 is by invitation only.
