The Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship (TIE) Seminar Series continues this October with entrepreneurs and innovators sharing firsthand perspectives on building ventures, attracting investment, creating entrepreneurial ecosystems, and translating discovery into impact. Whether you are exploring entrepreneurship, developing an idea, working on research with commercial potential, or simply interested in innovation, the series offers an opportunity to learn directly from people building ventures in the real world. All KAUST students and members of the KAUST community are invited to join us.

Mark Tester 
Professor of Plant Science and Chair of the Center of Excellence for Sustainable Food Security, KAUST 

Growing More with Less: Innovation for Sustainable Food Security 

Mark Tester is Professor of Plant Science and Chair of the Center of Excellence for Sustainable Food Security at KAUST. His seminar will explore how research on salt-tolerant crops moves from the lab to market, including how he and his team have built companies that combine plant science and engineering to grow food with saltwater, cutting the water and carbon footprint of agriculture.
